No-Show Policy
Introduction
The No-Show Policy is meant to discourage members from neglecting their responsibility of attention events for which they have registered for. We take The No-Show Policy very seriously, so please abide by it. Failure to do so creates a bad impression on yourself, our Chapter, and the University. The No-Show Policy differs based on 3 types of events: Student, Professional, and Office.
Student Events
Student Events are considered to be student run events. Examples include but are not limited to events such as career development workshops, community service events, peer mentoring, tutoring appointments, etc.
First Offense: Prohibited from attending the next Professional event
Second Offense: Prohibited from attending all Professional and Office events
Third Offense: Membership rights revoked until the following semester
Professional Events
Professional Events are considered to be events where professionals will be involved. Examples include but are not limited to events such as Accounting Fest, Awards Banquet, Bowling Tournament, Meet the Firms, Mock Interviews, professional mentoring, etc.
First Offense: Prohibited from attending all Professional and Office events
Second Offense: Membership rights revoked until the following semester
Office Events
Office Events are considered to be events where you have the opportunity to meet with professionals in their firm’s office or an office provided by the university. Examples include but are not limited to events such as office tours or office hours.
First Degree No-Show: Banned from all future office events for the type of office event you missed (office tours or office hours).
When you arrive 0-20 minutes before the office event
Second Degree No-Show: Banned from all Office and Professional events, including the one in question if late.
When you arrive after the office event begins
When you do not cancel by the deadline
**A second-degree no-show combined with any previous no-shows will result in a revocation of membership rights until the following semester**
Resolving No-Shows
In order to resolve a no-show, you must write a written apology to the Executive Vice President (vp@csufbap.org) within 7 business days of your no-show detailing:
Your reason(s) for not attending the event
A personal plan of action for preventing a future no-show
Exceptions
Exceptions are only granted for extreme circumstances beyond your control and are subject to review by the Executive Vice President.
Failure To Resolve A No-Show
Failure to resolve a no-show will result in a ban from all events (except speaker meetings).
